Old Simos Tavern is a family-run institution in the village of Sotira, in the Famagusta district, cherished by locals and returning visitors alike. Housed in a traditional Cypriot home, it has built a stellar reputation (4.8 stars from over 840 Google reviews) on authentic home-style cooking and genuinely warm hospitality from owners Simos and his wife Antri. The signature draw is the meze: unlike most taverns, here you customise your spread, adding the dishes you love, skipping the rest, and even combining meat with fresh fish.
Expect fresh, market-sourced ingredients, generous portions and standout plates like lamb kleftiko, alongside vegetarian-friendly choices and homemade favourites such as tzatziki.
