Historical Caves

Tucked away on the edge of Geroskipou, close to the Kato Paphos coast, the Historical Caves are a cluster of rock-cut tombs and caves reached along an easy park trail. Some chambers hold religious artifacts and lit candles, giving the site an atmospheric, almost eerie feel, while a nearby chapel and St George's Tavern mark the turn-off from the main road. The surrounding grounds have been developed into a small park with newly planted trees, benches and a children's playground, making it an easy, pleasant stroll for families as well as history seekers.

Watch for bats resting in the darker caves, and look out for the occasional religious feast held here. There is no entrance fee and no parking charge, and confident walkers can reach the site on foot from Kato Paphos in under an hour. The trail isn't heavily signposted, so plan to explore slowly and enjoy the off-the-beaten-path discovery.
