Orders for a time, not just for now

A guest can order their coffee the night before and collect it on the way to work. The order waits, and reaches you when the food has to start, not when they pressed the button.

  1. Ask us to switch pre-order on for your venue
  2. Carry on as normal, nothing changes until an order is due
  3. The order lands on your board prep time plus 25 minutes before they want it
  4. Accept it the same way you accept any other

The whole point of this is that it is quiet. An order for tomorrow morning is not an order you can do anything about tonight, so you are not told about it tonight: no notification, nothing on the board, nothing chasing you.

The times a guest can choose come from your opening hours. Where we do not have your hours recorded, we offer a sensible daytime window instead rather than letting somebody ask for half past two in the morning.

If nobody wakes the order in time, because the kitchen was shut or we were behind, it expires instead of arriving late. A croissant ordered for eight is no use to anybody at ten, and an order you cannot fulfil should not be sitting on your board looking like a complaint.

What it looks like A coffee ordered at eleven at night for eight in the morning shows up on your board at about twenty past seven, not at eleven at night.
Worth knowing Switching takeaway off for the night switches off orders for tomorrow as well, so you are never committed to something you did not see.
