Now and then we ask how a recent visit was, or send a small offer from a place you love. It is only ever somewhere you favourited or checked into, it is capped so it never spams you, and a quick review helps other food-lovers, and the venue, a lot.

We write to you about a place you chose to have a relationship with: one you favourited, or one you actually visited. Never a venue that merely wants your attention.

There is a cap on how often, and a cap on how many venues may reach you in a week. Writing a review earns you nothing at all: no Bites, no discount, no prize. That is deliberate, and it is why the reviews on this site are worth reading.

You can turn all of it off in your details without losing anything else about your account.

What it looks like Two messages in a week from two different places you favourited is the most you will ever get, and you can mute them entirely.
