Stamp cards, and nothing to type

The paper card on every counter in Cyprus has outlived every app that tried to replace it, and the reason is simple: there is nothing to type, nothing to check and nothing to argue about. This is that card, without the bit of cardboard.

So there is no amount in it anywhere. You are never asked what you paid, which removes the one place in the flow where somebody could be dishonest rather than policing it.

The dots come before the button on purpose. You see how close you are at the moment you are deciding to press.

Some venues run visits rather than purchases, which is the same mechanic with a different promise: come six times, have a dessert.

When a card is full, the page says one is waiting for you. You press the button and take it yourself, and your card starts again. You press it, not the counter, because the work on this card always sits with the phone.

The venue sees every stamp on their own screen and can say it was not them. Your balance carries on from card to card, so a long run of coffees is never reset by taking a free one.
